About Us

Take Action

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization. We encourage informed and active participation in government and we work to increase understanding of major public policy issues and influence public policy through education and advocacy.

Our organization

The League of Women Voters of Arizona creates the Voter Guide to help voters understand the ballot propositions and we advocate for our positions at the Arizona Legislature. Find out more about us.  Local Leagues throughout the state register voters, help get out the vote, educate voters with programs on issues and speeches on current topics, and hold candidate forums. Check out our local Leagues and find one closest to you.

Advocacy and Action

From protecting voting rights and advancing the ERA, to the care and protection of the environment, we promote good government, proper use of natural resources, international relations, and social and economic justice and equity to Make Democracy Work©.

Advocacy and Action by the League ranges from serving as observers of the legislative process, lobbying at committee hearings, testifying for or against legislation, writing letters and op-eds to newspapers and legislators, using the Request to Speak online program to educate state legislators about our positions on legislation in committees, mobilizing public support for League advocacy, and making calls to action. The League directly litigates or files amici briefs against violations of the Voting Rights Act, Fair Maps (redistricting/gerrymandering), and other issues on which the League has a position.
