Her talk will be followed by a discussion of Initiative 940, "De-escalate Washington" (http://www.deescalatewa.org). This measure would require all law enforcement officers in the state to receive violence de-escalation and mental health training, as developed by the criminal justice training commission. |

Native plant and bug show and tell!
Heather Wendt and Gretchen Graber will be our speakers. Heather works for the Conservation Districts and will speak on native plants and ones that can be grown in our own yards. Gretchen is a plant ecologist, former adjunct instructor at WSU who will speak about bad bugs and good bugs, including native pollinators. We will also view two heritage gardens that are in the neighborhood, so wear your walking shoes and bring a water bottle if you would like. If drizzly that day, bring an umbrella. We can ask questions about the status of wildlife habitat, preparing for climate change and any other points of interest. A snack will be served at the end of the meeting. This is a social event and is meant to be fun as well as informative. |
